What a dumb thread. Marquez is the superior fighter and its not even close.

How can you compare an ATG in Marquez to Cotto.

Marquez a true warrior, knocked down 3 times in one round, to come back and nearly win the fight. Cotto went down one knee when put in a similar situation and said NO MAS.

please list marquez's best wins and cotto's.

do it with their losses as well.

The only Marquez is better at, is his countering and maybe timing but thats really really close. People bring up Pac... did we forget Pac was a lot worse then than he is now? Pac would demolish Marquez in 6 if they met now, and please don't even bring up whose chin is better. Cotto in his entire career has been on the canvas 5 times (Torres once, Marg he took knees, 2 knockdowns in the Pac fight.) Marquez was on his ass 5 times in just three of his fights, 4 in the pacman series and once against feather fisted Floyd. On top of that Marquez got rocked by Diaz... its not even close.

That was JMM third weight-class though against a guy who was at 135 damn near his whole career. While that was JMM 2nd fight at that weight especially after being damn near a career FW. I mean we can bring up Corley rocking Cotto and I mean HURTING Cotto. Now you can say that Corley had more power than Diaz. Which is true. But, that was Corley and Cotto first and for Corley only weight-class. They naturally the same size. You could even say Cotto was bigger. While JMM naturally was bigger than JMM and JMM did that two weight-classes above his best. And, JMM was passed his best also.

And, yest Pac demolishes JMM in 6 but that also depends on what weight they fight in also. JMM limit is 135 he can't go any higher.

I think the question was regarding their respective primes. And while Pac may be much better than he is now (as if anyone else has been able to do what Marquez did TWICE, save for Morales) , even then he was a top five pound for pounder, top 10 at worst. So those were still two great performances. As for whose chin was better in their primes, easily Marquez. Pac dropped him three times but he got up each time and, with all due respect, kicked ass the rest of the way. What else? Cotto was dropped and badly hurt by Torres, Corely rocked him, hell N'Dou got his attention. Heck, so did Paulie Malignaggi. He's also been stopped a couple times. Come to think of it...you're right, it's not even close.

Marquez: won 50 (KO 37) + lost 5 (KO 0)
Cotto: won 35 (KO 28) + lost 2 (KO 2)

Only one that needs to do math is you.



And there are some pinoys that will just pick about any one over Marquez especially Cotto because Pacquiao beat his ass. They dislike Marquez because his fights with Pacquiao are disputable. Notice how they love Morales and Barrera because they didn't do **** to Pacquiao in their last 2 fights.
