Actually, you can work limited hours at age 14 in most states with parental permission.

Working at Meijer when you're in 8th grade (you turn 14 during your 8th grade year) is not unbelievable at all. You also don't have any bills at that age, so you can afford to drop your entire paychecks on stuff like clothes, shoes, etc.
