The last truly elite fighter that Manny beat was Bradley three years ago. Beating a guy like Broner isn't really that impressive. Pacquiao looks good for a 40 year old but he's definitely no Bernard Hopkins or Archie Moore.

There are a few fighters of this era--Hopkins, Mayweather, Marquez, and Pacquiao--who can compete at a high level into their forties, maybe even fifties. These aren't ordinary champions; they're phenoms.

Oh yea. I forgot, Manny is just some crude caveman with a carrot for a brain. Its a miracle hes made it this far without carrying his craft with him.

Packy is still competitive at his age because his post Horn opponents were unworthy, since Horn he has avoided any real opponents by choosing damaged goods. Matthyees' pre existing medical condition and Broner's lack of courage.

limited matchmaking has extended manny's boxing career in recent years

manny used to eat guys like Horn for breakfast.

The manny last night took no bodyshots and faded for the first time.

Any of the elite welters minus Garcia would have beat manny last night.

A rare one off record setting Filipino knocking off Ring P4Pers like Clay pigeons never to be seen again.

Expanding the voice of his downtrodden people too as well as something of a polymath with all his extracurricular.

I knew he still had it in him. His entire boxing career is astonishing. His pro debut and early bouts where he just loves it when it gets really intense was phenomenal.

I do wish he can hang them up, but itís still mesmerizing to see him be able to fight this well given his age and decline. 2 more fights at least and call it a career.

Iím amazed how a 40 year old senator can still look this good. Who knows, itís possible that he can beat the top WW champs. Although that would be a very tall order, wouldnít surprise me if he pulls that off. Pac really does remind me of the great Roberto Duran.
As one of his biggest fans yes itís nothing short of a surprise. Iíve saying heís past prime since he was 33 and heís still here. Being on top of the world, being a senator.. juggling all the balls, being a pastor, a philanthropist, an entertainer, itís really special how he still finds that hunger to train as hard as he does. Even during his prime days he has a lot going on and he manages to balance all of them and not be mediocre in any of them. Only a few people have passed this world that can carry mannyís jockstrap.
Imagine pac only having boxing and all his focus towards it.
Pacís discipline and championship mindset has enable him to last this long.
Though I still want him to retire asap, as father time is undefeated.

If pac retired in his prime, he would have been considered top 10 of all time. Like it or not. How a fighter ends his careee affects our judgment on atg rankings.

It doesn't surprise anyone really as PAC is one of the best of era if not the best.
The only ones who will pretend to be surprised are the ones who always find a way to criticise him, but even they are becoming less believable by the second

This.

And it shows that the gatekeeper can't trade with Pacquiao.

Broner traded with Mikey, Porter, Maidana.. but not Pacquiao.

Why?

Pac is a different beast.
