Wrestling Legend Big Van Vader Dead at 63

Vader aka Big Van Vader — who wrestled in WWE, WCW and all over the world — has passed away at the age of 63-years-old … this according to his family.

One of Vader’s children tweeted from his account saying, “It is with a heavy heart to inform everyone that my father, Leon White, passed away on Monday night (6/18/18) at approximately 7:25pm.”

Adding, “Around a month ago my father was diagnosed with a severe case of Pneumonia. He fought extremely hard and clinically was making progress. Unfortunately, on Monday night his heart had enough and it was his time.”

As you may recall, Vader underwent open-heart surgery in March. Vader spoke in-depth with Bill Apter about the surgery before it happened and called himself a “walking time bomb” due to having ten clogged blood vessels.

Damn man, it's a shame that he didn't get inducted to the Hall of Fame while he was still alive.

He was such a beast, he was 400 lbs and could do a moonsault. One of my favorite "big men" in wrestling.

Too bad he never got to win the WWF title. I heard Vince wanted to put the belt on him, but Shawn Michaels wouldn't put him over.

His matches against Sting and Ric Flair in WCW were my favorites of his.

I saw him wrestle Bret Hart at my first WWF event when I was 14.

          R.I.P Vader

          Thanks for the memories.

Fun fact: Vader was straight outta Compton literally, he grew up there.

RIP Vader. He was one big tough crazy athletic dude. Most people 400 can barely even move let alone wrestle and do backflips. One time in a match his eye popped out of his freaking sockets so he just stuck it back in and continued the match.

Him and Bam Bam Bigelow are the 2 most athletic big men I’ve ever seen.
