  • Any news/expectations on how long Conor/Khabib suspensions might be?

Any talk of how long these guys might be suspended for???

The post fight brawl was pretty bad...

Khabib has to be a minimum of 6 months at the least I would imagine 9 months or a year suspension.

I can see Conor getting a 3 or 6 month suspension.

Won’t be long Dana already said rematch is happening this year, they are just keeping them “temporarily suspended” just to save face.

****ing dumb the rematch is happening so soon, khabib is gonna maul Connor again and Connor will be less marketable coming off back to back losses.

Khabib is def going to get suspended 6 months at the very minimum imo. He jumped over the cage and went after a dude. The NSAC will stand it's ground on this a little bit and give Khabib a 6 month suspension minimum imo.

Yeah, but it's what they always do. They give their cash cows immediate rematches to get back on track, like Silva with Weidman and would've done so with GSP and Hendricks if St. Pierre hadn't retired. I think it's Dana's way of giving the loser a shot at redemption. They should do what the McMahons do in WWE now and let the loser of a fight earn their shot at another title shot these days. Raw just did a battle royal to determine a contender to face Dean Ambrose for the IC belt. You know, when scripted pro wrestling is coming up with more legit ways of naming #1 contenders, you know your fight promotion is not very well run. It's also kind of funny seeing Ronda Rousey throwing punches and muay thai knees in her matches, knowing how badly she was outstruck in real fights on the feet. Yeah, where were all those quick punches being thrown against Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes? Not no easy when fights aren't scripted and you don't really have those skills, I suppose, as seen in the cage with CM Punk.

I hope he does and that the Tony Ferguson fight finally happens after that. The hype for that fight should be huge.

I just think this new management group is the worst possible thing to ever happen to the UFC.

All they care about to making their money back ASAP rather then long term success that will easily pay them back and more. That’s all I see here is them trying to capitalize off the press of the ****show that happened after the actual fight.

I don’t think immediate rematches should ever happen unless it was a controversial finish with questionable reffing/judging or if a fight was razor close. If it was a clear cut win in any fashion the loser should have to make his way back. Only exception I’d make it like a quick loss like Aldo, I think Aldo could give Connor a much better fight and even beat him if he didn’t get so emotional.

So let's say Khabib pulls it off again. Don't you think Ferguson should be the next opponent? Ferguson and possibly Poirer seem like the only major threats left at lightweight for Khabib. I could see him wanting to retire after that, if the past rumors are true. Or does he really want to fight on and try to make the big Conor type money?

I think by the time they get their suspensions, assuming Conor gets one at all, the suspensions will be over or within a month or two of being over.

The NSAC has been doing that often as of late. No rush to a conclusion. They just sit on a situation for 8 months & then say "your suspended 9 months so you can fight next month". Don't know if they are just being lazy or if there is some public perception going on with that strategy but I've seen it happen more in recent years I feel like.

Ain't that the mfing truth. I was just b^tching about that in the Jones/USADA thread. These guys don't give a f#ck about MMA.

This is a purely dollars & cents thing to WME-IMG & the sooner these guys sell to someone else the better.

Sh^t on Dana & the casino brothers all you want, & I've done my fair share when they deserved it, but there was never a doubt in my mind they cared about the sport & trajectory of MMA

I think you gotta try to make that Ferguson fight one time. I know the history sucks but it's his best challenge left. Maybe Nate could catch him in a sub but doubt it.

He's not gonna make that Connor money without connor. Boring fighter to the casual eye. Everywhere I see talk of the rematch I see "no thanks I don't need to see grown men cuddle". And that was a good all around fight. Nothing great but not terrible like a GSP fight post serra.
