    Vasiliy Lomachenko-Jorge Linares was the most-watched boxing match on cable television in 2018. According to Nielsen Media Research statistics released Wednesday, Lomachenko's 10th-round technical knockout of Linares drew a peak audience of 1,749,000 on Saturday night for ESPN. The average audience during that main event from Madison Square Garden was 1,439,000.

        That's good. Hopefully these regular fights on ESPN are gonna pick up more and more steam. I think a Beltran fight might even get more viewership since the buzz from this one. Hopefully Crawford's show does well too.

        This news however will upset a large number of fans around here that are miserable and want the sport to fail unless their man crush is fighting.

                  Nah. Loma´s last fight on free tv will be against Beltran. Loma vs Pacquiao in December will be on PPV and from then on Loma fights regularly on PPV. The next one will be against Mikey Garcia in May 2019.

                    Certainly the great matchup and increasing publicity around Lomachenko was the main factor in these numbers, but I think the start time probably had a lot to do with it as well. Something they should look at in the future, especially with ESPN. HBO/Showtime I get starting later, but this stuff should be in prime-time on the regular networks
