I still rather post on message boards than on facebook. I don't use twitter anymore, gave it a try, didn't like it. Instagram>FB>Twitter.

It's just to target you for advertising and personalize your experience.
Then track you via the facebook pixels on all the other sites you go to so they can show how powerful facebook is to generate ad dollars. They do this because you gave your consent when you signed up.
If you aren't paying for something, you are basically the product they sell to advertisers.

Not shady so much because people don't give a **** about privacy. They only care about convenience.

They don't care about you and your private stuff individually but what you do puts you into groups that people market to.


I prefer message boards too tbh.

Yep, data mining is the big thing now. I'd never sign up for a social media account, other than here. If it's free, you most likely ARE the product.
