Wlad had a hard time with Bryant Jennings years before he lost to AJ.

That's unfair. Ortiz's win over Jennings doesn't become worse because Jennings became worse. Take Luis Castillo for example. In his prime he ws a good champion and a win over him was a very good win. Later he went downhill so much that a win over him meant almost nothing. When Ortiz beat Jennings Jennings was well thought of and his win over Jennings is not devalued because Jennings is not nearly as good now as he was when Ortiz beat him. It doesn't work that way.

Bikini dogs. The issue is that people were trying to use Jennings as a benchmark for how good Ortiz is because his resume of opponents is so bad. Where other boxers have numerous opponents to compare this was Ortiz stand out win. Therefore if that win was his only decent win it’s hard to argue Ortiz isn’t overrated by many.
