Unfortunately Ward's promoter, Jay-Z, and Al Haymon have a business/personal beef going back to Haymon's time in the music industry...not sure they have ironed that out yet - I don't think that fight is realistic in the immediate future.

The guy has legit power, and is built like a tank, but he literally fights like a robot. He's got little to no head movement, crappy outside game, and I have the creeping su****ion that his jaw might not be that stable. On the other hand kovalev has great jab, which is both accurate and powerful, and he's got a beautiful 1-2 combo. He doesn't neglect the body, and by what I saw last night jdj has him moving his head more, using footwork, and actually boxing on the backfoot. Arturs biggest chance would be to bumrush kovalev from round ,and hope that he can finish him early. If the fight goes past the 4th,I see kovalev taking over, and either stopping Artur late,or getting a unanimous decision.

Beterbiev most notable handicap: he didn't fight enough rounds so far...

Another great stylistic match up! Huge step up for Beterbiev but he looks more than ready the way he been destroying people. Of course Kovalev has the advantage with his Experience. I look forward to seeing how they deal with each others Power! Of course lets see if the fights gets official done and it is not just a bluff from Duva

Haymon has nothing to say in the matter. GYM is the promoter and Haymon will for once be put in his advisor position and told to STFU if he doesn't like it. In the end, it is the fighter who has the final decision as to whether he will accept a fight or not.

So if the fight gets made Haymon has nothing to do with it?

I say let Beterbiev and Gonzales fight it out and the winner gets Kovalev. Any of these three would be a great fight.
