Awesome. Watch out Joshua and wilder here comes a real champion. A guy that can actually take a punch and give it!!
Kevin Barry's done a extraordinary job on this young man in the past couple of years!

      Hughie Fury would beat Parker.

Wasn't much in that fight but, controlling the distance and winning those middle rounds definitely saw Parker over the line. Rounds 3 thru 8 were a clean sweep at least.

Ruiz will definitely wake up tomorrow and think he should have done more, and he probably should have. But it's hard to throw punches in bunches when you've got a left hand in your face all night.

Can't say I'm overly impressed with Parker tonight - he boxed too well within himself and never let his hands go. But he did enough, and as much as people may have wanted Ruiz to win, I don't think anyone can make a compelling enough argument that Ruiz won enough rounds.

Their faces at the end of it were telling - Parker barely had a scratch on him. Not sure how some people above can think Ruiz landed heavier punches. Just not enough juice in Ruiz's hands unfortunately.

Parker outboxed Ruiz, and won deservedly.

        Questions around the gameplan though.

Not a great fight, I felt a Draw would have been fair, even though i scored it slightly for Ruiz, both men didnt do enough to deserve a major HW belt.

Barry needs to go. JDJ or someone would be great.
            Exactly.

Parker is never going to be Lennox Lewis, he's always been below average on the back foot. And Ruiz' only gameplan is to walk guys down - it's what he's been doing his whole career, and he's good at it.

I don't understand how they can look at that Parker right hand that he's knocked guys out with in one punch and decide it's not even a factor in this fight. Really weird strategy.

Not in NZ. He'd never catch him.

Ruiz would've KO'd Parker had he fought on the inside. Parker looked so uncomfortable when they got close and you coult tell Parker did not like that kind of fight at all. Ruiz fast hands wins everytime on the inside.

agreed mate, he looked very very flat and tired, he was saying before the fight that he was exhausted and needed a long break.
I said month's ago that all this las vegas > nz, travelling, camps and fighting 5-6 times a year is too much for a prospect.

There is keeping your fighter busy.. and there is rushing him...

Hopefully top rank get Parker settled in the U.S and pair him with JDJ or even sanchez lol...the KB road has come to an end i feel..

Doubt it, JP has a great chin and ruiz doesnt have enough power. Ruiz was on the front foot the whole fight, JP cannot box on the backfoot agaisnt pressure fighters like takam and ruiz, He has a fantastic uppercut and has actually a good inside game...he did not throw 1 uppercut the entire night...

Ruiz has enough power to KO anyone. Also when you Fight on the inside you'll get hit by punches you dont really see coming. Ruiz fast hands hits the target way more often. Parker had a lot of respect for Ruiz hand speed and did not fancy any inside fighting for a reason.
