Canelo rejected the trilogy as he wants other meaningful fights, felt that he has ggg's number and don't see any point fighting him again last year. He wanted to beat guys like kovalev at LHW and pursued him hard. I am sure someone at golden boy and dazn convinced him and sweet talked him into accepting a trilogy this year. All ggg did was fighting a bum steve rolls, letting rolls tag him a lot and getting beat up by derevyanchenko in a fight that he should have rightfully lost. Canelo has done so much more than the fraud ggg.Comment

But both these guys have guaranteed money. It’s not the classic ppv system. Nelo can say ggg is no challenge but then hed move on to an opponent that would be wider Vegas odds and get less views most likely. That’s the truth. So that means nelo thinks it’d be a closer fight with someone else despite the wider odds?Fair enough. Doesn’t mean it will be best for dazn financially. Still nelo wants a bonus to fight a weaker opponent in ggg? Even though it’s the fight dazn wants and most fringe fans want? I’m not that interested in the trilogy. Almost everyone think ggg will get kod. But I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw another twelve round fight with minimal drama. So I can understand that. Heck if ggg won a close decision would we have to see a fourth fight? Was nelo trying to do the fans a favour or himself? Tough to say. No favours for dazn though. If nelo fights BJS at least most boxing fans would be cool with that. Nelos the pope, he’s going to do what he wants anyway. He just has to fight someone that doesn’t make us regret he didn’t fight ggg, and we probably won’t even know that until the outcome anyway. We should at least be trying to push a consensus alternate.Comment
