I'm not so sure Crawford beats Porter. And before any of you dumbazz ***riding posters claim I'm hating on Crawford/Top Rank/ESPN whatever, I'm a fan of all those guys. I'd just have to see how Crawford deals with Porter's style of not giving him space for the fight.
Next for Porter? Bud Crawford. Here's why.

I agree with you, unless Spence gets Pacquiao. Once that happens, that’s all she wrote on Crawfords pull. Bob should be at Pacquiao’s feet right now, kissing them to make that fight happen before Errol possibly doing so.Comment

Yes it is a fight that should happen. Porter deserves it for his good effort and he is a measuring stick for comparing Spence and Crawford. But will Arum even take the fight. Porter is a risky fight and he might beat Crawford. If anyone is listening, the situation is now perfect. After a fight for the ages with Spence (and yet a close, controversial loss), Shawn Porter is a perfect opponent for Terrence Crawford.
Crawford still needs a top-level, credible opponent (and a victory) in his welter-weight excursion. Porter has just shown he is a monumental test for any WW ... this after razor-close losses to Thurman and Kell Brook when Brook was elite (he may still be at SWW). The fight with Thurman could have gone either way.
Porter has fought all of the top fighters at PBC except Pacquiao (that won't and shouldn't happen) in close exciting fights. If Porter overcomes Crawford, he gets a fresh belt, and the unification rematch with Spence (after a lights out first fight), which would be monumental.
If Terrence Crawford is able to win against Porter, he immediately gets the unquestionable stature and legitimacy to fight Spence, and the fight gets as large as is possible for a network-sharing megafight. Also, the intrigue of how Crawford overcame Porter vs how Spence overcame Porter, would add so much fire to the Crawford/Spence matchup.
No one loses in this scenario. PBC wins, Top Rank wins, Crawford wins (unless Porter defeats him), and Porter wins (because he gets the high profile championship fight he deserves after a tremendous showing against Spence). The involved networks win, fight fans win, and we get a Unified WW Champion at the end of it. This would probably be the best financial scenario for all involved.
Could anyone remotely attracted to boxing pass on this?
What say ye Boxing fans?

Green K for that, been a looong time since I seen, you know, a classic thread. Real boxing talk.
You had me convinced but these other guys pointing out the childhood friendship has me thinking it won't happen.
Thing about that is I got a friend I been friends with since I was 12. I'd sooo lay down to make my brother look good. No thought about it, that'd be a fixed fight, a show, I'd just let dude wallop me and take that L.
That said, I kinda don't want it if they're friends. I never wanted a K2 fight for the same reason. I'd lay down for my brothers. It makes the whole fight suspect I reckon.Comment
