High Protein Low/No Carb diet does help you lose more pounds faster (mostly water weight because high protein deits are dehydrating) With little/no carbs to help your muscles recover your body will use the protein u eat for energy not leaving enough to maintain/repair/build muscle (you dont want to lose lean muscle mass)

Make sure to stay away from the wrong types of carbs from processed foods w/sugar, high frucutose corn syrup, white flour, white rice, packaged foods, alcohol....stick to unrefined, whole foods: fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains... your muscles are most receptive to producting new gycogen within the first few hours after your workout - you should therefore take in some carbs along with protein - best type of carb during this time is high glycemic because it will be rapidly absorbed.

I follow this formula for fat loss
28 calories/ lb
1 gram protein/ lb
1.4 grams carbs/ lb
.36 grams fat/ lb
