Joe did all he could do. Cleaned out 168, won the title at 175, beat RJ. All that was left was Dawson, which woulda been relevant, but nobody woulda gotten excited over. Same wit a Bhop rematch. No reason for him to come back, so nobody cared.

Because to you Americans he exploded out of obsurity to put on the performace of the decade in his beating of your 'New Tyson', after the mere lamb, Manfredo, he then beat and beat up two of your legends in Hopkins and Jones.
There should be a correction to your post: Instead of 'Noone wants to see him come out of retirement...'
You should put: 'We Americans don't want to see him come out of retirement... (because he beats our best fighters!)'

It was the right time for him to go, thats why.
With lewis you can make a very good arguement for a Vitali rematch.

the heavyweight division is seen as weak by some.
some think that the vitali - lewis fight should be re-fought as they didn't like the way it ended.
some want to see vitali beat lewis. to shut up the klit haters.
some want to see lewis beat vitali to shut up the klit fans.

Well why then do you say 'Noone wants to see him come out of retirement'?
If he came out for one last fight here in the UK he'd sell out Wembley (100,000 seats) fighting Manfredo II.
However, I do in a way see what you are trying to say. I would say people are generally satisfied with Joe's career and wish him the best - no need to keep fighting. He has made good money and won the people's respect. Long may he enjoy retirement.
