Question: is it a mistake for Democrats to move forward on impeachment with very little support from republicans?

Based on poll numbers most folks are for it so I think they look weak if they back off. That said they could look bad if Donald can clown them & make them look dumb as he excels at doing while its going down. So it could go south either way & if there is one think Team D is good at its f#cking sh^t up so w/e is the lesser of two evils or has the best upside if it doesnt go south is the move. Which Id guess is to gamble on taking Donald out.

I think you're supposed to have a specific coherent reason for impeaching someone instead of just announcing you will "go forward with impeachment" right before election year without anyone really knowing what for.

But we all saw is coming, right? DNC "holding off on impeachment (reason for impeachment TBA)" until the end of 2019 was as widely predicted as Epstein mysteriously dying/vanishing in jail.

They couldn't do it any earlier or it would blow over without leaving a scratch and they couldn't do it any later without the nominee calling for the impeachment of their incumbent opponent, turning an election into an illegal coup.

It had to be right now & with the economy soaring, both deaths & traffic down on the border, the US being kept out of new wars, impeachment has become a mandatory hail-Mary. I don't think going back is an option. They would simply concede the election.

Pelosi announced earlier she is going to back off on impeachment vote...at least for now until they want to feed the media again with another round of BS.

Without them having an official vote means republicans cannot have power over requesting their own witnesses to interview
