  • [Suggestion] A Major TV Network should buy the rights to Pacquiao-Mayweather

How about it? A major TV network like NBC, ABC or CBS buys the rights to show The Pacquiao-Mayweather fight LIVE on network TV in a Superbowl-like event. They can even include those "super commercials" and all the hoopla. People say boxing is dead, well this could save boxing. Ok, maybe its not realistic but what do you guys think? We'd see the return of boxing on network TV and this fight has the chance to shatter ratings records. And most of all, we all get the fight we've been waiting for, for FREE!!!

if the fight ends early the major network would lose a lot of money.

with Pac and FLoyd in a PPV it could generate as much as $200 Million revenues including live gate, international ppv and sponsors.

"Mayweather" and "save boxing" don't belong in the same sentence. Floyd isn't a crowd pleaser. If anything, people would turn away from boxing even more, his style just isn't for the new or casual fan.

PPV would get them substantially more money in nearly every situation.

This would never happen, unless they want to cut their revenue into a fraction of what it would be.

It would be a pioneering effort to get boxing back into the mainstream though- if floyd was a more exciting fighter, and boxing promoters weren't greedy snakes.
