Nothing cheap or illegal about it. Ortiz was the one with the cheap shot.

Apart from that, Ortiz had already apologized directly and hugged Floyd after the headbutt ; there was no need for a second hug and apology.

The referee said "box", Victor came towards Floyd to apologize, Mayweather showed signs of accepting the apology by tapping gloves, Victor went for a hug after that, dropped his guard, and got KTFO'd.

I don't get it. Last time Mayweather did the exact samething, it was against Mosley, and everybody applauded Mayweather for not giving into the "glove tapping, I'm sorry, let's be friends here thing." This time he does it again, and people are pissed. Obviously it wasn't the honorable thing to do, and definitely a cheap shot, but it was totally legal.

The difference is Mayweather kept his distance and wanted no part of a glove tap with Mosley, against Ortiz, Mayweather extended his arms to say it was ok , yet proceeded to sucker punch Ortiz. It was a straight up ***** move.

Clearly a cheap shot, very classless and it ruined what could have been a good fight.

But it's still legal and Ortiz should have protected himself instead of trying to hug Mayweather. Honestly, what kind of fighter does that after they headbutt someone? Ortiz was not taking the fight seriously.
