Mikey garcia is almost youtube famous, all his interviews get numerous views, got plenty of 1mils+ sparring footage too. Spence is a nobody, he’s growing but still relatively unknown. They are throwing his name out there with canelo now, thurman and pacquiao, if he can show he’s the goods he’ll start to really pick up traction.

You're reaching, bro. You're comparing old Mikey fights when Mikey was unknown to Spence's most recent fights. The Lopez fight was in 2013. Two fights before that Mikey fought in Mexico against a guy with a 36-15 record. Mikey was barely know. And Spence had the marketing support of the Cowboys - not to mention that Spence is from Dallas - when he sold out the Star.

You can't possibly be this dumb. Brook vs. Spence was a PPV in BROOK'S market, the UK. In Spence's home market, the fight wasn't on PPV, and it averaged only about 300K viewers, though it was on the afternoon.

Most importantly, TV ratings and ticket sales don't always correlate with PPV drawing power. Crawford gets excellent TV ratings and sells tickets well, but his PPVs have bombed...hasn't broken 200K buys in his 2 PPVs combined.

Ward and Kovalev did great TV ratings but their 2 PPVs bombed.

Anyone who understands boxing PPVs knows that the Mexican and Mexican-American fans are the most consistent and loyal PPV buyers. That's why Kovalev-Ward and the Crawford PPVs tanked.

Mikey was very well known when he fought Sergey and still only sold 7,800 tickets in San Antonio. San Antonio has a bigger fight market than Dallas btw. Mikey had a had a head start to cultivate a strong fan base in Texas and get a sell out a crowd yet he couldn’t do it. Errol Spence sold out the crowd in a practice facility holding 12,600 people in Frisco, Texas.

About the TV ratings, Errol Spence’s showtime TV ratings are BETTER than Mikey’s, when it comes to average or peak Errol’s ratings surpassed Mikey’s. The only time Mikey had better viewership than Errol was when he fought Broner and we all know Broner brought in all the views, NOT Mikey.

Errol Spence was on PPV way before Mikey, that was the point when I brought up Spence vs Brook, Mikey was never on any PPV in ANY market.

Anyone with a brain knows that Mexican-Americans do not drive PPV buys. Pacquiao vs Broner are not Mexican yet they still had 400k buys, Wilder vs Fury are not Mexican yet they still had 330k buys, Mayweather vs McGregor are not Mexican yet they still had 4,000,000 buys.

Mikey’s Garcia doesn’t get credit for the ticket sales or PPV buys. His ticket sale numbers are trash and his viewership numbers are worse than Errol’s. Errol was the one who sold the tickets and is responsible for those 360k PPV buys.

I definitely Mikey & his popularity & knownness played into it. It was a good fight (on paper). People are dying to watch top guys fight so they show up.

I do tend to doubt 3 played much of a part cuz to most US fans a UK PPV don't count or barely counts either so while Spence had fooled around both were US PPV virgins technically.

Crawford has 460K Instagram followers and can't sell a PPV to save his life.

If Spence allowed a Youtuber with hundreds of thousands of subscribers into his gym, getting 10-20 videos of him uploaded weekly then he would go viral as well due to the algorithm.

There are a bunch of videos ESNEWS uploaded of Mikey Garcia that didn’t even crack the 1,000 views mark.

If you go on google trends and put Errol Spence’ and Mikey Garcia’s name then change the settings to “YouTube Search”, the graph will show that Errol Spence’s name is more searched than Mikey’s especially in the last 90 days.

All sides deserve props. It was heavily promoted also with a intriguing match up of 2 undefeated fighters in their prime. One moving up to “Dare to be great”. Other finally had an opponent that would test is IQ and make him show more than he had before
