  • Comments Thread For: Commey Views Beltran As Key To "Earning Respect And Credibility"

For a hard-luck lightweight who was considered unfortunate to lose out on a major payday earlier this year, things sure seem to be suddenly going Richard Commey's way. The recently crowned lightweight titlist is all set for his first defense, as a forthcoming showdown with former title claimant Raymundo Beltran is all but finalized. Once all parties sign off, the fight will headline the June 28 edition of Top Rank Boxing on ESPN live from Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, Calif.

Pure opinion .. I didnt see xrays but they probably wanted to slow down the direct flight to Loma Land. Build up some credible wins to boast Commey profile ultimate to help build Loma’s reach. Inside boxing fans would watch Commey V Loma now but average fan maybe. I dont follow fan numbers but always hearing he doesn’t attract big crowds comoared to his skill level. Loma rise to greatness one problem maybe he fights too many inside boxers favorites vs natural “created” matchups based on bias and commercial stereotypes which draw those fans. I like Commey though, matchs up with a lot offights i believe in many weight class too

Not a bad fight. Commey always said he was going to have a voluntary on the way to Loma land, and that he didn't want a soft touch (although always believing that he did), and half expected him to pick a no-name. At least Beltran will show up to fight, although at 37 with his best days behind him, it should be a relatively safe night out for Commey. If Commey loses or has a tough outing, then he wasn't ready for a night out with Loma anyway.

Commey will dominate and own the lightweight division soon, his far too big for the others. He destroyed Luna and Chaniev. People need to give him real credit

            Good fight
Very competitive fight , and we’ll have an idea where Commey’s at
And if he wins then we can start hyping for the Loma fight

I hope you're just trolling. Commey has already lost to Easter and Shafikov. He didn't come close to dominating. But when he does fight Loma, they'll be domination alright. Commey however will be on the receiving end of it.

Think this will probably be the end of my boy Ray, he's going to go out in a firefight though

How you could possibly find credibility in beating a 38 year old who was dominated by Pedraza I don't know. Although it is better I suppose that it isn't some no name bum with no world class experience.
