  • anyone ever try the bowflex system?

wondering if the two grand they want for the machine is worth it

  • #2
I tried it for about 8 weeks, When I was into the whole lifting thing. I did not like it others swear by it and how you will like it is based entirely on how you like to workout.

I prefer free weights over resistance personally so it is all in your personal preference....

free weights are unbeatable. All the pros use it (well body building that is) Machines liek bowflex is good for isolation but if you want mass, you have to use freeweights. It's a rule.

It's possible to get results on the bowflex. I have a friend who bought one and he's made strength gains with it. I tried it and I can see how it can benefit a person but I prefer the resistance bands I bought. They're a LOT cheaper and they've helped me.

It's another tool, I suppose. If you use it regularly (and can afford it) you can gain something out of it. If it becomes an oversized clothes hanger then there are no physical benefits to it.
