  • Comments Thread For: Derevyanchenko's Trainer: Triple-G Fighting Rolls Was Ridiculous

NEW YORK Andre Rozier responded incredulously when he was asked about Gennadiy Golovkin's last fight. "What fight?," a laughing Rozier replied. The implication from Sergiy Derevyanchenko's trainer was that Golovkin didn't exactly face an imposing opponent June 8 at Madison Square Garden. Golovkin viciously knocked out Steve Rolls in the fourth round that night in what was widely lambasted as a mismatch between an elite, hard-hitting middleweight and someone who had never been tested at that level.

Dude acting like a novice. It's called a stay busy fight bruh. GGG is 37, he needs to stay active.

Canelo ducked so GGG had to pick someone to stay busy. A pathetic attempt to mock him

"Rozier expects Devy to give Golovkin a much more difficult fight than Rolls did".
Rozier continues to amaze with his insight and boxing knowledge.
Trainer of the Year for sure!

Rozier dared GGG to face what he called the best middleweight in Demetrius Andrade & Andrade offered GGG a title shot but he chose to fight Rolls.

Should of fought Andrade who was asking for the fight instead fought a 36 year old Uber driver

So a guy who is 13-1 and saying GGG had no business fighting a guy who was 18-0? Granted Rolls was not a world class opponent by any stretch, but he was a stay busy fight while Canelo was and still is avoiding him.

I love how some GGG fans defend this by saying it was a stay busy fight so picking someone from the bottom of the barrel was ok. If this was any other fighter, they would cry foul till kingdom come. Incredibly pathetic... There was absolutely zero to gain from fighting Rolls than to fking bully him.
