Jerry Sandusky,*the former*Penn State*assistant football coach who was at the center of a child sex abuse scandal that brought down legendary coach*Joe Paterno,*was found guilty on 45 of 48 charges against him yesterday. The 68-year-old Sandusky had his bail revoked and was immediately taken into custody, where he will initially be housed in solitary confinement. The charges carry sentences of between 60 and 442 years. He will be sentenced in 90 days.The trial lasted less than two weeks, and the jury deliberated for just 20 hours. The trial featured extremely graphic testimony from victims, including tales of communal showers that degenerated into abuse, **** rape in the basement of the Sandusky home, and perhaps most heartbreaking of all, a mother who tearfully described her confusion about her son throwing away his underwear.Additional charges could be filed against Sandusky. This week his 30-year-old adopted son claimed that Sandusky had abused him when he was a child.

I can't believe there were actually people defending this as*hole when they were just "allegations". Unfortunately the old bastard will be made very comfortable in jail due to his advanced age, and statistically he's not very likely to live for more than a few more years anyway, so proper punishment will never be rendered.Comment

The people outside the courthouse after the verdict was read last night were awesome. They heckled the sh** out of Sandusky's lawyer, and when he said Sandusky knew he would die in prison if found guilty they all started cheering.Comment

His lawyers are trying to appeal by saying they didn't have enough time to prepare their case because the proceedings moved to quickly.
While I agree that the trial was awfully speedy, I don't think that a new trial would be much different. At the most maybe they'd get him acquitted on a few more counts he was charged with, but any way you slice it, he's gonna die in prison.Comment

Convicted child molester Jerry Sandusky had a surprise waiting for him when he was sent to jail the first time, reports*Andrew Strickler of The Daily.As soon as the lights went out at night, Sandusky’s fellow inmates at the Centre County Correctional Facility serenaded him with a chorus from Pink Floyd’s “The Wall”:
“Hey, teacher, leave those kids alone!”
Similar humiliations are expected to continue now that Sandusky is back in jail having been convicted of the crimes.
Jerry Sandusky is currently on suicide watch. He’ll be sentenced in 90 days.
