  • Darren Barker injured

    ...again.

Purdy added to the card against unbeaten, hard hitting Argentinian Carrasco.

That sucks , tbh I can't see him fighting on much longer he's forever injured . It's a shame cause he's decent but his body just can't get through a camp

Aye, looks like the 4 ( Macklin, Barker, Murray, McEwan ) will never fight each other either. Barker will be back in the new year against a similar level of opposition and probably won't ever have a decent run at the top.

He is always injured & pulling out, what a shame as hes a very decent fighter as he shown against Sergio Martinez.

We had a similar situation a dozen or so years ago at Light Middle when Wayne Alexander, Richard Williams, Steve Roberts & Someone Whose Name I Cannot Recall At The Moment were all decent fighters just below, or around, World Class & yet they all got picked off or faded away before we could have a domestic round robin.

Sometimes it pays more to lose a great battle in a home bout that it does to play it 'safe' and wait for the title shots. Didn't harm Benn & the boys 20 years ago.
