According to promoter Yvon Michel of GYM, the rematch between WBC light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson (31-2, 17KOs), and challenger Jean Pascal (27-2-1, 16KOs), is going to make place on May 25th at Montreal's Bell Centre. Michel received confirmation of the date by HBO.

After quitting against Ward, this is do or die for Chad. He seems to have a rather fragile psyche, and I doubt he'd be able to retain his former status if he loses to Pascal again.

If he at least goes in there, does his thing and appears to have won, but does not get the decision, i'd be happy for him. This is a tough situation for him. Pascal is a guy who's very capable of beating Chad fairly without hometown cooking; It's also a situation where he could lose anyway because of hometown cooking. IMO he needs to forget about corrupted judges/ref and just make sure he wins those rounds in the eyes of the fans. When you win in the eyes of the viewers, you basically win and get a lot of support. If Chad can't even do this, then I don't know, I will be very disappointed.

Towards the end of the first fight Chad had some opportunities to hurt Pascal but he didn't capitalize. If he goes into the fight focused he can definitely win this. He has to let his hands go this time.

The reason for Montreal is obvious. Not only is it a guaranteed sellout, there's Canadian and HBO TV rights fees in play.

As far as "quitting" goes. Why should he take more of the azz kicking that he was receiving? For the sake of some Dumb fan "valor"? He took a gamble it failed you move on.

It's funny how people want fighters to take ALL risks but at the same time if they "lose", then they were "dumb" to take that risk.

A couple of months ago against Pacquiao, Marquez was arguably in worse shape than Chad was when he made the decision to act like a fighter and look what happened. Find a different sport if you can't reach down and look for something that you don't think you necessarily have.
