Its like a business version of Facebook if you want to use it to keep in touch with past friends / colleagues.
If you are in sales, or have a need to find out someones name in a company to call them, then it's the best tool in the world

It has many uses, depending on your angle. I wouldn't be without it personally

if you use the pay linked in service and you have got a decent resume you can find a job in your field. otherwise you will get offered account manager jobs - glorified telemarketers with way more work and far less pay than you`d deserve.
