Luis Ortiz's handlers apparently want at the absolute least what DAZN and Eddie Hearn were willing to pay Jarrell Miller for Ortiz to challenge Anthony Joshua on June 1. And probably then some. Multiple sources have informed BoxingScene.com that Ortiz's representatives turned down Hearn's $5 million offer for Ortiz to step in on what's now five weeks' notice for Miller. They asked for $10 million, $3.5 million more than what would've been Miller's package for the fight had the boisterous Brooklyn contender not tested positive for multiple performance-enhancing drugs late in March.

He was supposedly a boogeyman that everyone was avoiding. Then he was Ko’d by the lesser regarded champion of the division, and has now avoided a 5 million dollar showdown against Joshua.

He should have been offered the same as Miller really. Still though that’s pretty hard one to turn down for Ortiz. I don’t blame him for not wanting a short camp for a fight this big, but $5 million for a shot at 3 belts when it’s possible he won’t get that chance or money again, he probably should have taken it.

Where are the likes of Kowanacki and Ortiz going to get 5M$; they are nowhere near being mandatory to AJ, Wilder won't get past Whyte and won't offer them that for a voluntary! Maybe Haymon has made a conscious decision to burn his investors money.
