I believe in a government that represents the people and benefits the people from it's existence.

I believe, from an economic standpoint, that individuals have a right to profit from their entrepreneurship, as long as it doesn't involve taking advantage of those who work for them, meaning, I believe there should be employment standards set so that everyone is paid in accomidation with the job they perform. Also, while I don't necessarily believe in the government provideing a "free-ride" for anyone, I do believe the government should help out individuals who have fallen upon hard times as a parent helps out a child; but also offers an opportunity for that individual to earn their own living by providing job opportunities.

I believe the government should provide and maintain the highest of criteria in health care and education for its citizens for there would be no government without said citizens; and, the country as a whole would benefit from citizens who are both well educated in every possible facit and citizens who don't have to worry about spending their hard-earned money on insurance and exploding health costs. Both the Health-care and Educations institutions should be "socialized" for the betterment of society while, at the same time, allowing entrepreneurs the freedom to operate private Health Care and Education facilities as long as they measure up to the criteria set by the government.

The government should be a controling factor, to an extent; but never above the will of the people. Here's what I mean. In order to keep businesses, corporations, and any industry from taking advantage of the job market and hurting the society as a whole, each operation should require a liscense by the government. Since the government is allowing individuals their "Rights to Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness", it is only fair that criteria be set up to keep those who get out of the blocks first from exploiting the masses. This can be done by the Government setting pay and benefit standards and, quite possibly, the requirement that a company expand within the shores of the country rather than abroad so as to offer more job opportunities for the citizens of the home country rather than offer job opportunity to non-citizens on foreign soil for the sole purpose of paying lower wages. Businesses should be regulated by the government to prevenet extreme capitalism, from which the masses suffer as a result. Only the owners and share-holders benefit from such an arrangement, which deprives fellow citizens from pursuing their own happiness and impedes the job market in other ways by forcing the citizens to scramble for multiple low-paying jobs, which most assuredly cuts into their "pursuit of happiness" by depriving them of quality time with their family.

The government should be comprised of.....A Congress, as it is set up (but without lobbiests; lobbying should either be equal across the board for all groups, regardless of financial resources...ergo, no "dinners", or should be non-existant altogether).....a Judicial Branch pretty much as it is set up......A House of Theocracy which allows the various religious, or non-religious sects among the people to converse with each other and voice a unified concern on behalf of the people to the Congress..(the price is that no church in the country could use the pulpit to preach politics; that position is for speaking of God, Allah, Yaweh, or whatever.....members can express their political beliefs in private get-togethers and at the polls, otherwise, they are not a "tax-exempt" organization)

Oh...last thought: the politcial system in teh States should be changed regarding political parties as this system is now defunct. Very few people are pure Democrats or Republicans anymore; and those are the only parties that have a voice. All political candidates should be provided EQUAL PRESS and COVERAGE so that VOTERS can make a more well-informed decision and not be forced to follow mis-information and mud-slinging while the real issues are being avoided.
That's enough for now; more to come later.

I believe in thinking for myself, so I'm not quick to attach myself to a political party where I'm expected to take the party stance on an issue.

My views on politics vary issue by issue - I'm most likely to be classified as a libertarian at the end of the day and am very liberal on social issues

I am registered as a republican but I am more of a libertarian. The only reason I do not change my status is because here in Florida you cannot vote in primaries of other party's. If I became a libertarian I wouldnt be able to vote in any primaries at all (because they always only have one candidate).

I took a test one time and it told me I was a Centrist.I am very liberal about certain things but very conservative about others......It just depends on the circumstances I would say I probably lean a bit toward the Left rather than the Right though.
