    10. Leonardo DiCaprio (The Aviator/The Departed)

    Based on:
    -Performances
    -Influence
    -Box Office
    -Legacy

How would your top 10 American actors of all time look?

    Notable mentions:
    1. Daniel Day-Lewis
    2. Bill Murray
    3. Johnny Depp
    4. Tom Hanks
    5. Paul Newman

not trying to flame here but that is just an utterly atrocious list grandchamp. the fact that you have harrison freaking ford at #5 and completely did not even include Humphrey Bogart, Clark Gable, or James Stewart shows that you dont know much about american movie history. Plus brando's best film is not apocalypse now. That was one of his worst acting performances. Great film but brando was way past prime and that was during a time where brando totally neglected his professionalism. Came in grossly overweight and never remembered his lines.

That's perfectly fine. But I do find it odd that you guys are incredibly good at disregarding my list without making one of your own!!

I enjoyed Apocalypse a great deal, and didn't feel like putting Godfather twice.. Could've put in A Streetcar Named Desire but no-one here would know it.

Also - What's wrong with Harrison Ford?

I stand corrected, how did I forget James Cagney. Tracy and Sidney Poitier deserve mention as does Edward G. Robinson. There's just not enough room in the list for all the greats.

i stand corrected myself with mentioning them as honorable mentions when they belong in the top 10.
