That's just not true. Community support for disabled people is prehistoric & definitely predates socialism as a concept. There are records of village & church programs in the early medieval period to care for the disabled cost-free.

There are primitive tribes who care for disabled members (although the disabilities had to be comparatively mild in order to survive at all in that environment).

Such things are a matter of whether the society in question has adequate resources. If they do then they generally care for their disabled.

On the other hand (practically regardless of political ideology), in time of economic depression, total war, famine, the disabled are the first to be sacrificed.

I guess that's how socialism sinks its teeth in, though. They tell you every charitable act is "kinda just like socialism!"... Or that you wouldn't have it if socialism didn't give it to you. Even though in just about every example, the item in question predates socialism by hundreds of years or developed in complete isolation from socialism.

It's amazing how as someone who's involved in politics, she doesn't know anything about politics, nor economy. I'm right wing and I'm still feeling ashamed for her whenever she opens her mouth. I'm like "Please stop, you look as if you are scoring against your own team at the basketball game". But really, I'm glad for all the attention she's getting, I truelly believe the republicans are very happy whenever she gets on camera because every time she does it, it's another plus for them.

Yep, that's the core conflict.

Organic inequality between families and communities will always exist no matter what. As long as two things are not exactly the same then one will be better suited to thrive in a given environment.

The "socialist" is the ultimate opportunist: They step to and harness the anger/suffering/envy of the family or community not doing as well.

They make an offer: We will abolish & replace the other community's charitable systems by brute force. In exchange, you must merely vote to give us the power to do so. The power to cut down ascendant communities to the general level and to force universalization.

Once they have this the propaganda machine is funded and we owe everything to socialism. Before socialism, cripples were fed to dogs, all women were ruthlessly beaten, we owe things that predate socialism by thousands of years to socialism, etc.

Socialism does not hold a patent over public aid. Socialism is defined by leveraging intergroup envy as a justification for amassing enough centralized power to outlaw alternative aid systems.
