U.S. slavery reparations sought in first Black Lives Matter agenda

The ONLY people who should have to pay are the people who were actually involved in the Transatlantic Slave Trade and employed Slave Labor in the US 13 colonies for labor and monetary gain....which some multi generation White Families (mainly British/German descent) did......If you can prove that your ancestors were never involved and never used Slave/Plantation labor (which is the case for many Whites myself included) than of course you shouldn't have to pay....You had nothing to do with it, so you shouldn't owe anyone anything for it....

For example my Ancestors came to the US from Italy in 1908.....Which obviously means they never owned Slaves (Slavery was abolished in 1864) or had any role in the Trade.....They also settled in Brooklyn and lived in the NYC area for generations.....never the South...I don't owe a Black American person a damn thing and neither do any other Italians....Case closed

The only people who should receive any sort of reparations are the Blacks who can prove their ancestors were enslaved/used in the Plantations of the South.....Nowadays due to increased immigration....Many Blacks are coming to the US from all over the world and have no links to the original American Blacks who were used as Slave Labor in the original 13 American Colonies....So I don't want to here some Haitian or Jamaican complaining about being owed reparations for Slavery in the US...Take it up with France (Haiti) or Britain (Jamaica) if you want reparations for the Slavery you endured (aka not the US)....

imo I think it's stupid unless you are directly related... and yes you would have to show some proof.

And for many Whites like myself our "Ancestors" weren't even involved....

My ancestors came to the US in 1908 from Italy....What fault/role did they play in the Transatlantic Slave Trade (which was abolished in 1864 in America)??? None whatsoever as they were still living in Italy for 50+ years after the Slave Trade was abolished......

So I would be paying/blamed NOT for something my Ancestors did.....but for something that other random White peoples ancestors (who have zero connection to mine) did.....That is even more absurd than paying reparations for what your Great Great Great Grandfather did....I'm paying reparations for what the ancestors of other unrelated "White" people did....

Slaves who were brought to the US and eventually freed and accepted into the world's richest society basically won the lottery compared to those who were left to rot in Africa. However, BLM is making a clever ideological shift.

The former "cause" of the BLM seems to have fizzled out as people bothered to look at the statistics and see that the main perpetrators of interracial killings in the US were (drum roll)... Blacks. Killing White and Hispanic victims at epidemic rates. That was quickly going nowhere.

I've never met a resentful black person with a sincere interest in history or their personal lineage. Black people with a sincere interest in history usually aren't very hateful because they know European, Asian history weren't all peace and rainbows either, that life for the average human anywhere in the world was constant misery until very recently.

The resentful ones seem to immerse themselves in UFO conspiracy theories about African golden ages, "Big Head Scientist" and ancient cyborgs but if you talk to them for more than a minute, it becomes apparent all that motivates them in life is a primal envy towards people who have blonde/red hair or blue/green eyes and chisled facial features. It's some highly sexualized nervous disorder they try to hide by saying they're "oppressed" whilst chilling online all day staring at ****.

We have to put around this topic like children and all play dumb. It gets so old.

For sure there should be reparations. And I can't imagine it won't happen at some point cuz so many people have gotten their payback from horrific past activities done to their people. Jewish people got money (iirc) + a country. Indians got casinos & reservations where they make their own laws. Chinese Americans got $1B+ for the concentration camps they got put in during the World War.

I'm guessing all the black slaves who died or were murdered on the way to the United States (and other places) or who were murdered while a slave wouldn't agree there journey was a lottery ticket that ALMOST paid off.

my problem with reparations is the lack of proof. i read a statistic that only 1.4% of americans owned slaves at the peak of slavery. so not every single black person has dealt with it. and if u pay them just because they think they had a family member who was a slave, there's no real proof.

i've benefitted from affirmative actions so i can't dogg it. that's the plus side of having an asian sounding last name. get more calls ya feel me?

About 6-7% of Southern Whites owned Slaves in the 1850s which was the height of the trade in the US....Most Southern Whites could never afford Slaves or afford acres of land for Plantations....and the few that could (6-7% of White Southerners) typically had a ton of money and could afford dozens and in some cases hundreds of Slaves.....

So it was a small percentage of Southern Whites (rich elites) owning alot of Black Slaves.

I believe it was like 2% of total Whites in the US (at the peak of Slavery) if you include the Whites living in the North with the South......


And that's not even taking into account all the Whites that only immigrated to America AFTER the Slave Trade was abolished.....My Italian ancestors being among them (they came from Italy to the US in 1908 and settled in Brooklyn).....If you included all the Italians, Greeks, Eastern Europeans, Polish etc it's probably <1% of Whites in current 2016 America who had Slave owning ancestors....


This DOESN'T mean that we as Americans shouldn't do more for Blacks or that their isn't any responsibility to make right for Slavery (which is part of American history even if only a tiny percentage of Whites had any role in it)....but to say All Whites had an involvement in Slavery or Profited from it is just blatantly ******ed....

What a massive ignorant, thick ****. So those slaves won the right to be treated like second class citizens, as they are now and to be murdered regularly by the people put in place to protect them?

Africa was abundant in natural resources before being raped by europe and slavery, you may consider many of their traditions primitive but who gives a ****? in what way has the standard of life improved? this improvement in living standards is a myth.
