Not to change the subject on you but compare what happened with Jim Dunaway who was OJ's teammate with the Buffalo Bills: his wife was found drowned in their pool with a large bruise on her head. The household had a long history of domestic troubles and they were about to divorce. Despite what appeared to be clear evidence the local authorities did not charge him with a crime. However, his children sued him for the value of the wife's portion of the estate and won by a preponderance of the evidence.

This is quite a stark contrast in that one at least was put on trial for murder (he was found not guilty because Fuhrmann was clearly a liar with a record with falsifying or manufacturing evidence in court). The other was not charged with a crime even though his children were willing to testify under oath that Dunaway had made earlier threats against their mother.

Interestingly, the news media made a circus of the OJ matter. By contrast, it failed to report the Dunaway incident. Too bad I cannot post a link as I need to make at least 15 posts before I can make one. But please feel free to do a Google search for more data.
