i wonder how many crybabies in this thread were defending the compubox stats back then in the pac-jmm2 fight to try to prove jmm won

    ****ing illogical whiners.

compubox is a cool stat, but totally compromised and easily manipulated to favor a fighter.

case in point, calzaghe vs hopkins, they racked up points for calzaghe that weren't even on scoring areas...

there have been many other fights where these punch stats dictate how people view the fight and it's easy to sway opinions using stats. the only thing is, it's a couple of people hitting different buttons each time a punch is thrown and or landing in scoring areas..... it's too easy to fluff........

no doubt. unfortunately, many people on this website swear by it. Well, that is unless it disagrees with their opinion, in which case the compubox have been bought off and its crap again.

fact is, you should never judge a fight via compubox stats, ever. nor justify any scoring.

Love it when people will bring them up to justify their scoring, but then entirely ignore them if they dont agree with their scoring. Awesome.

Yeah. You're right. 'Compu' indicates 'computation' not 'computer'. It's a couple of guys makin' hashmarks w/pencil and paper, isn't it?

They're probably reasonably good at it by now (hopefully they use the same guys every time) but I would in no way call it the last word in declaring a winner.

Pacquiao deserved the W a couple days ago, but at people who use Compubox as "proof" or "evidence" that he won.

I say that for the last 2 Pac fights those compubox numbers were terribly unfair to the fighters he was fighting. No way Bradley or Marquez got outlanded by such wide margins.

WEll they should do is see the recording and do a real assessment since they will have replays and slow mode at their advantage and show a complete assessment in the replay next Saturday
