  • Glove weight?

    Hi All,
I have just bought a pair of Everlast 16oz gloves and compared to my 16oz Sandee gloves they are lighter on the scales??!

Is this right or does 16 oz gloves just mean the size/padding?

    I don't want to think i'm
wearing 16oz when they are not!

Sorry if this is a mad question,But i honestly don't know.

    Thanks.

Mate, when you weighed the first pair you did take your hands out right?

Supposed to be the weight of the fill; but if you got everlast high performance trainers, there's a good chance they're underpadded. Everlast pro trainers aren't supposed to have this problem.

Not all gloves are created equally.
I have a pair of ringside ultimate classics that are larger & more thickly padded than some 18 ounce gloves I have.
I have a pair of Top Ten Fight Sparring gloves (not superfight 3k) that are 16 ounces of padding over the knuckles, but size wise they look smaller than 10 or 12 ouncers.

Ah,Thanks for that and i understand it now. My Sandee ones look a lot more padded than the Everlast ones.Different construction.

              Love the Everlast gloves.

Mickey H.... Yeah,I had my hand out...I'm not from Blackburn u know

The reason i asked this question is i can explain....

I just bought the Everlast gloves off Ebay and on arrival seemed VERY light for 16oz! I weighed them and compared them to my 16oz Sandee gloves, and the Everlast ar'nt 16oz! And far less padded so they will do for bag work only and i will get another 16oz pair for sparring...not off ebay!
