  • Bad hands

I've just started up on the heavy bag again after a period of about 6 months playing rugby.
I stopped a while back because of bad hands, and my hands are killing me again.I use my left hand mainly, setting up my favourite combination of a jab, straight right followed by a left to the ribs.
After a few workouts of mainly jabbing and this routine,my left hand hurts really badly-pretty much down the side, down from the pinky.
It's not so much the knuckles that hurt, more the bone down the side.I think this is from the impact of the "bodyshots" to the hardest part of the bag.
    Maybe a technique problem,I don't know.

My old trainer used to massage them with some form of alcohol,I can't remember what he called it though.
    Any ideas?

I've done a little research on the 'net and it seems like it might be something called "boxer's fracture",where there is a fracture of the metatarsal bone connecting the finger to the wrist.
    Anybody had this,any advice?

Nah,I can see my knuckle on my left hand just fine,my right hand is like that though.
This is something different,it's the side of my hand and the bones actually in the hand, rather than the knuckle itself.

best thing would be to visit a doctor and use something between the hands and glove so the impact isnt so big.
