We are a mixed system just like ALL economic/political system on earth. We are a mixture of capitalism AND socialism. It’s been this way many decades before we were ever born. Thus anyone who tries to portray us as a capitalist nation is either stupid or lying. The objective of the far right is to convince their followers that we are something we are in actuality are not. Their purpose is to instill a us vs them mentality. The goal is to build political power for the rich. The rich for thousands of years enlist the poor to gain political power in order to get things done FOR THEIR BENEFIT. IN this case tax cuts that make the rich that much richer and cutbacks in social programs that benefit the poor.
