  • Middle knuckle hurts

    Hi guys,

I will see a specialist and I also want to hear your opinion on the issue...my middle knuckle on my right hand hurts. Others don't.

I had a pause for 2 weeks went back to gym and still hurts and I'm not really punching hard.

it's less pain if I don't close my hand entirely but that's not a really proper technique....

I use Twins 16oz and 120inch hand wraps....

    Do you have any ideas?

it might be because you don't make a tight fist when you punch, the energy doesn't distribute over ur hand well. i had that problem because of relaxed punching. If it's already injured though, it'll probably get hurt worse if u try to punch with a tight fist.

u can also consider a new wrapping technique maybe.

          That's a good method.

However, you should be using 180" mexican style handwraps.

I also use these, Winning NG-2 Gel Knuckle guards. The Marquez brothers use them in training:

"However, you should be using 180" mexican style handwraps."

I actually have these I was wrong when I said 120". They are everlast 180" mexican style.

I'll try new wrapping technique and I also have these which I'll use next time instead:

I found a new much better technique

              http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ud54cZly8o

However it still hurts. But if I use evergel handwraps it does not hurt even with 12oz gloves!

So obviously I need those knuckle guards and I've just order them.

              Thanks!

you dont need knuckle guards. just stop wrapping between your fingers. ive had the same issues and my knuckle would get very sore to a point where i wasnt able to punch anymore it only got worse after every punch. ive stopped doing that now and i dont have any problems with my knuckles anymore

With "between finger technique' it indeed hurts even with these knuckles but with the other technique they are great!
My hand even fits better in gloves. Made a few hits in my closet and tomorrow I'll try them on bag, can't wait!

So I'm using this one again:
