ROBERTO DI MATTEO will be cracking the whip with his Chelsea stars this week.
The European champions were a shadow of the side that conquered Bayern Munich in May and well beaten by the Seagulls of Di Matteo’s old Stamford Bridge mucker, Gus Poyet.
Di Matteo said: “We need to do a lot of work this week. I was expecting a little bit more from my team, for a better performance.”
Chelsea led through Frank Lampard but ex-Spain star Vicente rolled in Brighton’s equaliser. Ashley Barnes then cracked a second just before half-time and Andrew Crofts, just re-signed from Norwich, wrapped it up late on.
