"Klitschko too European for Americans" – Ola Afolabi

    http://rt.com/sport/boxing/klitschko...ation-america/

Wladimir Klitschko’s sparring partner, Ola Afolabi, says the WBO, WBA, IBO and IBF heavyweight champion is discriminated in the US only because of his European origins.

*Afolabi has been helping the Ukrainian to prepare for the unification fight against WBA champion David Haye of Great Britain.

“Boxing is a science of hitting and not getting hit in response. And no one else grasped this science as well as Wladimir. He has excellent movement; he can see the ring clearly and has excellent co-ordination. In fact, he moves much more than any other boxer. He has amazing legs,” Afolabi told Sportbox.ru.

“At the same time, many Americans don’t believe in him because he's from Europe – from Ukraine. If Klitschko was American everyone would’ve said that he’s the best. But in the US they don’t like him because he doesn’t speak perfect English,” he added.

Why do they always assume it's something about race or nationality? Isn't that what other groups take heat for? The double standard is strange. Wlad's a nice guy but some of his supporters are strange. The guy is widely recognized as the world's best heavyweight, a future Hall of Famer, is worth millions and recently destroyed the womb of some promising actress chick. He's being "discriminated" against? Enough already.

Carl Froch is technically European and has been practically adopted by the US since a lot of brits don't like him. So wlad has no solid argument.

It has nothing to do with being European, or white. It has to do with the fact that people find his fights BORING. He's not fun to watch. Just because you get a hard on for him, doesn't mean everyone does.

Look at Floyd Mayweather Jr. He's American, black, and lives in Vegas (the boxing capital of the world). Americans hate his guts.

How so? How exactly is he being "discriminated against?"

We all know if Klitschkos were American and possibly a different skin tone they'd be hailed as ATG. But since they're neither of those, they are frowned upon. Some of you talk as if they shouldn't even be HOF'ers. You also never give them credit when they beat their opponents up.

You also say all their opponents are fat when that is far from the truth. Most are in shape and if you go back in heavyweight history its not like all heavyweights had chiseled bodies.

Theres an obvious agenda in American media when it comes to African American athletes. Im not going to pretend i know why it is, but you have to be blind not to see it.

Its not a coincidence that HW boxing is dead in the u.s now that theres a couple of white guys on top.
