  • Comments Thread For: Seth Mitchell Back in Training For Banks Bout on 10/6

Last week it was announced that heavyweight prospect Seth Mitchell will be returning to the ring this Oct. 6 to face Johnathon Banks.

That bout, coming on the Atlantic City undercard to an Adrien Broner main event, is one that was initially supposed to have taken place on the July undercard to Amir Khan-Danny Garcia. But Mitchell had to pull out of facing Banks in July, citing lingering damage to his hand from an April technical knockout over Chazz Witherspoon.

Refreshing to see a nice, humble, hungry (not for burgers, but for success) American Heavyweight who is in shape, loves to train, has a desire beyond money to become a great Heavyweight Champion

like any fighter, he has flaws....but is young and can still grow

It is absolutely imperative that Mitchel learns a sustained body attack. These younger heavy weights don't seem to understand that they will never compete with the upper echelon Kliths head hunting.

Cannot wait to see him back, very exciting fighter.

        3 fights before a klitschko?
Good luck, he need to improve a lot and fighting a ex-cruiser 'll not help him.
        Exciting fighter anyway.

i take it you didn't see his last fight because he went to chazz's body quite often, which is one of the reasons he got such a fast knockout

He's as ready as he'll ever be. What you see is what you get, he's pretty much a finished product.

A card with Broner, Mitchell, and Thurman on it is an explosive card. Hopefully i can make it out to this one.

Depending on how good his trainer is Mitchell could still improve a little. He has terrible headmovent so thats definitely one thing that can only get better.

I dont think so. Guys like Rigo or Povetkin are finished products because they had a long amateur-career and learned almost everything they could. Fighters without a amateur-career have more room to improve, so does Mitchell. But hes already 30 and has not as much time as a Chavez Jr. for example. But he has the right attitude and thats most important.
