if that version of Ali had somehow shocked the world again and beat Prime Holmes?

Will you say he is the undisputed Greatest of all times?

I still think think he is the GOAT, but add that win and wow no question.

As a heavyweight he is often thought of a the GOAT regardless. Either him or Joe Louis.

In hind sight a victory over prime Holmes looks amazing. But if Ali had won at the time, it is very much doubtful that Holmes would be held in the same high regard as he currently is today. People would have just said that Larry was over rated and flattered by victories over post prime versions of Norton and Shavers.

          Exactly,

It also depends how Holmes career would pan out after that. If Ali retired people would always put him beneath Ali for that loss if he continued on like in History.

Ahead of Robinson? No way! But as a heavyweight in terms of accomplishments it would but in ensuring us how good he really was not really. It's common knowledge to know that in his prime Ali would have beaten Holmes. The thing that we're not sure about is how he would handled a skilled and explosive Joe Louis.

Absolutely not, there's nothing that Ali could have done in a thousand years to make him equal to or better than Robinson. There are a dozen fighters for whom could be made similar claims.

People forget (or never knew) that the name "The Greatest" came from his pal Bundini Brown who used to make up all his little ryhmes for him, which he's learn off and recite, then the two of them would go into a palm slapping routine (like Vaudeville) and fool around for the public. All PR. He was good, but not that good. Any big heavyweight who drops his hands when he's throwing a left, and keeps his chin up is eventually going to get tagged-which he did. ALL the experts said that his fundamentals were poor, and WHEN HE LOST HIS SPEED this would show and he's be in increasing trouble. Weeelll.....isn't that exactly what happened (for once the experts were right). It was only the fact that he had an incredibly strong chin that kept him from being KOd a few times, And, of course, this caused him medical problems, as we have seen. He was already medically unfit when his career-long pal and doctor, Ferdie Pacheco refused to attend to him any more and walked away from him-which was a few years before he fought Holmes.

How did a 7 fight unintelligent novice like Spinks beat him??

It was only his gigantic opinion of himself as "The Greatest" (not money) which caused him to keep boxing, and it ruined him, which I was really sorry to see. These guys are really just gladiators-fighting for money instead of their lives- not sportsmen at all, and we should finally realise this. I figured it out many years ago, although not as soon as I should have.

He is already the Greatest HW, but beating Larry Holmes doesn't put you above SRR, even if Ali was a saddening shell of himself when he faced Holmes.
