And the reason Chavez could only land once is because Martinez would throw like 6 punch combos. Chavez TRIED. Kinda hard when you get hit back though..as he found out. Its one thing hitting a guy who lets you...its another when you're taking an ass whupping and literally arent allowed. All those "slappy" punches of Martinez clearly hurt more than you want to admit.

Thats my whole point. Martinez threw a **** load while chavez thrw little to no punches yet martinez was the one on queer street. The only round chavez actually let his hands go was the 12th round and he hurt and dropped martinez.

i knew you were a good poster bro, this right here proves it. let the phags like playapimp/apocalypto and jrm be butthurt their unskilled fighter couldn't do anything til the last minute. it just shows who are the genuine fans of the sport and respectable mexicans on this site. i for one respect jr after this fight for never quitting. even though he got outboxed he stayed in there.

as for the fight, oh my god! that last round almost gave me a heart attack. i watched it at a casino and everyone there erupted when martinez got dropped. he fought so dumb, trying to please the crowd, and give jr opportunities to really catch him with some good shots, but jr didn't take the bait. i have yet to see the post fight presser to see what jr has to say for himself, but i guess it's the speed/angles that he couldn't handle.

i at first thought "damn, chavez jr has some seriously underrated power". but then i started thinking, you see the size difference between them? chavez was easily a light heavy or bigger tonight. i think any 175 lber cracking a 160lber with a good shot would have dropped them. martinez showed so much heart getting back up and not really running. first time i ever saw martinez tired, he was tired from the opening bell of the 12th. even though the fight was pretty much a shutout, it was amazing. props to both men, if a rematch happens, we'll see what happens in a second go round. i would suggest chavez to fight geale though, go after other belts and stuff. that or move up and face someone like abraham or froch. chavez will be champ again, kid earned my respect tonight.
