    as others have mentioned, better fighters lost to better fighters
    it does kinda speak well for him that he only lost to top compettion
    that's a minus, but only one of his losses was embarrassing
    Duran, Frazier and who else? You make it sound as if theres hundreds out there who lost to better fighters.

    Frazier yes but he lost to two, two of the best Heavyweights of all time yes but still only two.

    I asked if there was any others with even more ATG losses on their resume.

    The only two credible shouts have been Frazier and Duran who both have less ATG's losses on their resume however those ATG's are the likes of Ali and SRL to name two so they are credible shouts.

      Archie Moore:
      Rocky Marciano
      Muhammad Ali
      Floyd Patterson
      Holman Williams
      Ezzard Charles
      Eddie Booker
      Charley Burley
      Harold Johnson

      Only one who you could question wasn't an ATG is Floyd Patterson but given your criteria of accomplishing much more then McGuigan or say Jess Willard who is probably the worst person in the HOF = ATG, Patterson fits it.

        Juan Laporte;

        Julio Cesar Chavez
        Salvador Sanchez
        Eusebio Pedroza
        Azumah Nelson
        Wilfredo Gomez
        Kosta Tszyu
        Barry McGuigan

        Obviously not all ATG's but a strong list of fighters.

        Oakland Billy Smith;

        Archie Moore
        Ezzard Charles
        Charley Burley
        Bert Lytell

        He actually beat great fighters aswell.

              Well there goes that obvious one i knew i'd forgotten. Can't believe it took 5 pages for him to get a mention aswell, although it has been 5 pages of mostly off topic posts.

              Great shout however the man had over 200 fights Still think De La Hoya wins this game haha.

                Roy Jones' resumé is a f-cking JOKE compared to De la Hoya's. Im not even an Oscar fan but his legacy is one level above RJJ's. Oscar fought EVERYBODY while Roy fought tomato cans and half professionals all his career.
                And Tito is up there with de la hoya so Tito is way higher rated than Roy Jones
