Mafia 2 question?

how on earth do you get out of aim mode? once you press LT (xbox) it goes into aim mode. then once you kill some baddies and wanna run to another area it stays in aim mode. Is there anyway to get out of this other than putting your gun away? I wanna keep my gun out but not be in aim mode. Thanks
