TOKYO , February 11, 2004 -- After events in Spain , France and Sweden , the K-1 World Grand Prix 2004 will make its Japan debut on March 27, at the Saitama Super Arena.

As announced at a Shin Takanawa Hotel press conference, the event will feature a star-studded lineup in a one-match format (Superfights), with no less than three K-1 Champions participating.

Confirmed for the event are defending World GP Champion Remy Bonjasky, Four-time World GP Champion Ernesto Hoost and Jerrel Venetiaan of the Netherlands; Belorussian star Alexey "the Scorpion" Ignashov and French kickboxer Cyril Abidi.

Making his long-anticipated return to K-1 will be 2001 Champion Mark Hunt, while fellow Kiwi Ray Sefo is also confirmed. Meanwhile South Africans Mike Bernardo and Jan "the Giant" Nortje will try to improve on their less-than-sparkling recent K-1 performances as they are also slated to fight on what promises to be a thrilling night.

Americans on the card include Shannon Briggs and the hot Carter Williams, while Akebono, who lost against Bob Sapp on New Year's Eve, will again step into the K-1 ring.

The matchups will be announced next week, check the K-1 Official Website where all the information will be posted as soon as it becomes available.
