Taylor deserved the opportunity to continue. Steele waived it off with 2 seconds left. Taylor was never the same but had it not been waived off, he would have won a split decision.

It's called HBO legendary nights: Taylor vs Chavez. There are people who thought it should never have been waived off and some who fully agree that it was the right call. Richard Steele, the ref, explained exactly what he was thinking and feeling when he waived it off. Very powerful stuff.

Yeah it doesn't matter if it was 2 seconds left, 5 seconds, or 2 minutes left.

the referee is supposed to stop a fight when a fighter can't continue. He didn't believe he was able to continue as he didn't come to him when he was asked to.

Even in those 2 seconds, all it would take is a 2, or 3 punch combination on an opponent who can't defend himself, and that could cause a brain bleed, or worse.
