Like I said earlier, this was a losing battle from the beginning. Trump is a President, not a dictator (even though his supporters don't agree). Just as Trump controls the White House, the Speaker of the House controls the House. This matter is more than clear in the constitution. Trump is not above the constitution. We have separation of powers for a reason. That reason is to stop a tyrant like Trump.

Glad he finally came to his senses. When the shutdown is over and government is working again then he can come deliver the speech. The FBI just reported yesterday they're reaching critical levels without funding. No need to use limited FBI resources for a SOTU address when it can be postponed. Those resources are better used to protect the country. The superbowl is coming up in 2 weeks. Much more important than a dog and pony SOTU speech. And if the SOTU was so important to Trump he could deliver it from the Rose Garden. Better yet, he can tweet it out.
