clean punching-hopkins outlanded calzaghe by a wide margin and landed the harder punches in at least 7 of the rounds. watching the videos will confirm this.

defense-hopkins barely got hit in most of the rounds especially the ones he won.

effective aggression-this one seems to be the major sticking point. people that score it for calzaghe think it's just called aggression but it's effective aggression. it has nothing to do with coming forward or just being on the attack. it's what happens when you attack. swinging wildly and missing most your punches is the definition of ineffective aggression. people seem to forget that counter punching is a way of attacking. hopkins picked his spots and landed clean punches then reset. he was effective when he chose to be aggressive.

ring generalship-another sticking point for most. does a good general just march his troops forward shooting at air? no that would be a terrible general. a good general knows when to attack and when to retreat. a good general sets traps for his opponents. hopkins won most of the rounds because he was able to move, land, move without getting hit. calzaghe started winning this category in most of the later rounds because hopkins wasn't able to stop calzaghe quick enough.
Hopkins did not out land him, he may have landed harder shots but they were so few and far between.

What does landing cleanly have to do with aggression being effective? Joe's aggressive caused Hopkins not to throw, back away, and constantly hold.

Joe certainly was the ring general and commanding the pace from round 4 on, why else would Hopkins fake low blows because he was tired if he was controlling the pace?

A bit of an arrogant stance to take outright saying that all of these hardcore fans don't know how to score fights when they watch more boxing than 99% of ppl on the planet, don't you think?

Watch the video you sorry ****. He shows visual proof of every moment of that fight and you boyfriends lands nothing. It's a joke as are you. You're a cheerleading goofball that knows zero about boxing. Hilarious that you can try to dodge this one.

he did outland him in most of the rounds. these are facts. you can watch the replays and clearly count the punches.

what does landing cleanly have to do with aggression being effective? a lot. if you are aggressively walking into punches you are losing. ok he was effective at making hopkins tired in the later rounds. does he win the early rounds because of this? no.

does a good general march his troops forward and have them shoot at air? if calzaghe controlled the pace why did hopkins cut his work rate in half? hopkins fought when he wanted to and was able to play defense when he wanted to for the first 8 rounds and that's with cortez not allowing inside fighting.

What are you talking about? still haven't watched the video have you. ahhahahaha. Ducking and dodging just like you boyfriend does of any real challenge.

Let me know when you can refute the visual evidence. Let me know when your boyfriend mans up and ever comes out of retirement and fights someone with a pulse.

But to answer his statement, yes, Hopkins WAS robbed....of an Oscar for bad acting. As far as the fight went, Calzaghe made a fool of him and beat him easily.

too much logic for the people you are talking to. Remember: these are Joe fans. Special needs kids on the short bus.
