Is this thread filled with "All the black heavyweights are in the NFL" posts yet?
Yup. It’s actually talked about a lot, not just in this thread.

That he won. Brandon Rios came off a loss when he faced pac. Jesse vargas beat sadam Ali. Broner had a draw with Jesse vargas. There are multiple examples of race playing a role in boxing and promotors using race to their financial benefit. Pac vs algieri isn't a good example of one though. though.
If you want to use race as an example of promoters beefing up profits, just look at the Puerto Rican vs Mexican rivalry.

yeah that's an example of promotors using race/nationality to their benefit. But even look at how fighters are promoted. Danny Garcia was brought to Puerto Rico for a fight and doesn't even speak Spanish. Ryan Garcia has a Mexican flag when he walks to the ring and he doesn't speak Spanish either. Don't even think his parents were born in Mexico. Andy ruiz was marketed as a Mexican heavyweight champion... Was born and raised in California. It's all about marketing to fans for money.

Thank both the NFL and the NBA for taking the best big man athletes from boxing. Why go into boxing when one can get a guaranteed college degree and immediately sign contracts worth millions, have a defined season, and make millions more in advertising?
Boxing will never again get the best of the big men from the USA. The heavyweight division will be the domain of european big men....who have no other big money sport.
            thats BS

there arn't alot of big guys in the NBA that move as well as Fury does

That all started in the early 90s with Don King wanting you exploit Mexican American nationalism for fighters from Mexico. At the time JC Superstar was the most popular fighter in the game after the fall of mike tyson. Don king used to wave Mexican flags and shout “viva mejico”.....which was taken up by Bob Arum and company which would play the Mexican national anthems at fights to “honour their Mexican heritage” for fighters like dlh who himself adopted it for fighters who would fight floyd mayweather.
Since the 90s there had indeed been a hard catering to nationalism for one group in American boxing. Eddie Hearn himself has picked up on this with his pursuit of Mexican stars for dazn ie why he has gone after Garcia for so long

To dis day (Wilder voice) I’m still in shock and awe at how Fury moves the way he does. For someone his size, it doesn’t make sense.

But what happened to your best little and average sized men? Do you have midget league NFL and NBA in the States now?

He moves a hell of a lot better than the likes of Peter McNeely, that's for sure!
