Shavers is the harder hitter but Mercer had by far the better chin, so I'll say Mercer after a Foreman-Lyle style shootout. I'm assuming Mercer gives a shit about the fight, though. If that doesn't happen, he gets waxed.

I like Mercer to bust Earnie up with hard jabs and take him out late when Shavers gasses out. Ray might have to endure some thunder but his chin holds up to what Shavers can manage to sneak in
