Size difference was definitely the biggest factor. Nelo's defense was great, but when cotto did land something, he could comfortably eat it and not have to switch his plan of attack. That's what size will do for you. His punches and combos were crisp and on point, credit to him, and they were heavy as fuk, credit to his 10+ lb weight advantage.

Not sure where cotto goes from here. Has no business being at 160, nothing much to accomplish at 154 (which he has no business being at either), and 147 is probably a tad too much of a cut for his older self. Bradley, khan or maidana in the 152-154 range?

Oh , and canelo walks out to the ring in the 170-175 range. Coincidentally, GGG walks out to the ring in the same range. But we will just keep pretending that canelo is giving up 10-20 lbs to GGG
Funny how here the weight is an issue for small little Cotto.
yet when he fought Geale who ballooned to 182 on fight night, Cotto was a beast and just on another level.

    Very convenient excuses.

What part of 'a good big man beats a good little man' does your peasant brain have trouble understanding?

Size wasn't the biggest factor, heart and determination was.

LMAO at "he was able to absorb punches"

Cotto got outboxed in the center of the ring got outfought in exchanges, missed a lot. Got countered. He was simply outclassed by the better boxer.
have u ever fought a bigger fighter? anything u land on him wont affect him and will never make him reset his offense or think twice when throwing, at lower weights cottos punches mattered... try it one day i thought it was well known in boxing that a good big man beats a good small man... thing is im not using it as an excuse or taking anything from canelos victory... just something i noticed

It had nothing to do with the fight though. Cotto missed all night. He wasn't going to make him reset either way. ****ty game plan and he tried to outbox the better boxer. Cotto is vastly overrated here. SMH

Lol, you say that like canelo had to fight thru adversity. He didn't. He comfortably ate the much smaller cotto's shots and continued beating on the smaller guy. Such heart and determination.
